Zaharakos

Today was field trip Friday. Today's stop: Columbus's own Zaharakos Ice Cream Parlor and Museum.
It was newly restored to its original 1900 state and WOW, they spared no expense. It is beautiful. The ice cream was a little pricey, but if you look at it as an entrance free ($9.00 including tip for a root beer float and banana split) than I got myself a deal! Noah disagrees.
Plus, you can't really put a price on the smile Alex had when he was handed his gigantic mug filled with ice cream and root beer goodness (I didn't catch that one on the camera, but in the words of MasterCard it was Priceless).
Gabby was overjoyed as well and informed me that $9.00 isn't that much money. I'm afraid that's my influence talking, not Noah's.
The museum portion was also very cute, I'll show it to you some time if you want to come out for a visit.

  1. So cute! I like your thinking about calling in an entrance fee to the museum. Oh, no it looks like Alex spilled about $2.19 of his rootbeer float on the table.

  2. Oh and how did the ice-cream taste? Was it good? The pictures you took made it look huge...is it a pretty big place?

  3. the ice cream was good, not the best I've had, but good. The place itself is pretty big for an ice cream parlor, although it has a lot of mirrrors which make it look bigger than it is.

  4. Ah, root beer floats--the treats we'll get in Heaven.

  5. How fun and fabulous! I believe my thoughts on money spent on ice cream are more like yours and spencer falls more in line with Noah. Money spent on ice cream is money will spent, in my book.

  6. Gabby's going to be an expensive date to some poor unwitting guy if she thinks $9.00 isn't much for ice cream, lol!

Sounds like a cute place though, I really wish we had a real ice cream parlor around here. Leatherbys came close, but it is closed now.
