Noah bought me a pair of rollerblades for his birthday (gee golly, what a guy). I thought, I'll put 'em on and it'll all come back to me--like riding a bike. Nope. Rollerblading is not at all like riding a bike. I was petrified when I got above walking speed at first--and to think I used to be able to turn around in circles and skate backwards 'n stuff. I think I must have lost those muscles somewhere in the birth canal when I was giving birth, because they're sure not there now!
It'll be nice to change things up though--jogging can be awfully monotonous and for some reason, when I'm strapped to a pair of rollerblades I'm not thinking workout, I'm thinking please don't fall flat on my face so I've got that going for me.
You look like you've got it going on in that picture, though! Tree pose with roller blades on, maybe you could start a roller yoga movement. I haven't had a pair of rollerblades on forever, you would think it was something that would come back easily. I will take heed next time (if ever) I strap some of those suckers on again.
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! You do look pretty graceful in the picture. What a nice guy to buy you a present on his b-day. It was great talking to you yesterday!
ReplyDeleteI actually forgot how to ride a bike. Charlie planned a big surprise when he proposed to me. We flew to San Francisco for the day, rented bikes, and rode across the Golden Gate Bridge... except it took me the first 5 miles or so to re-learn how to ride!!! I wish you much better luck with your roller blades.
ReplyDeleteLove the name of your blog! I spent about an hour reading past posts, I just couldn't stop myself! You Lifferth jr's (as we call you guys) are such an awesome family!!!
