The donut case was filled as usual with fried goodness. I grabbed a chocolate glazed morsel for my beaming boy and put it in the cart. Not one minute later, Alex informed me that he wanted a white donut--not a chocolate one. What a dilemma. I couldn't possibly put the chocolate one back and I wasn't in a mood to argue, so I decided Oliver could eat the chocolate one. We picked up the correct color and made our way to the cashier to pay for our little piece of happiness.
Turns out Oliver doesn't like donuts. This created a problem for me. On one hand, I have a policy of not making donuts feel unwanted, but on the other hand I am supposed to be off sugar... what's a girl to do? So I ate it--all of it, all the while thinking I just won't make mention of this to Noah.
There I sat munching away when guilt started eating at me. I just lost the contest. I've got to tell Noah. Crap. I don't want to tell Noah.
Kaila: "Hi Noah. I just ate some of Oliver's donut."
Noah: "You bought donuts? Why did you go to the store, you were just there yesterday? I thought we were sticking to a budget. Wait, YOU LOST! I just got $50! You lost! I won! I'm the winner, you're the loser!"
And that is how I lost $50 today.
By the way, We've started over on our sugar fast and have upped the ante with a pot of $100, which will increase by $50 every month. Winner takes all. I will not lose next time.
